What Is Mine, I Give to You

“For the Souls in Purgatory – Eternal rest grant unto them O Lord”
John 16:12-15

I have much more to tell you, but you cannot bear it now. But when he comes, the Spirit of truth, he will guide you to all truth. He will not speak on his own, but he will speak what he hears, and will declare to you the things that are coming. He will glorify me, because he will take from what is mine and declare it to you. Everything that the Father has is mine; for this reason I told you that he will take from what is mine and declare it to you.

Grace Prayed For

The grace of trustful listening, to welcome the Spirit’s voice and receive all that the Father and the Son long to share

Reflection

Jesus speaks with tenderness—He knows our limits. He knows the weight of mystery is sometimes too heavy, too soon. And yet, He does not leave us without help. In the silence that follows His words, we hear a promise: The Spirit of truth will come.

This Spirit is not distant or vague. He listens to the Father and the Son, and speaks their heart directly into ours. He takes what belongs to Jesus—the mercy, the mission, the truth, the glory—and makes it ours. Through the Spirit, we are drawn into the eternal conversation of the Trinity. We do not merely learn about Jesus—we are guided into His very life, step by step.

To go out and make disciples is not to repeat facts but to share a Person, to allow the Spirit to speak Christ through us. Resurrection life means we are never alone in this mission. Truth Himself walks beside us, within us.

Growing in Intimacy/Union with Jesus

This passage is an invitation into divine friendship. As the Spirit reveals Jesus more deeply, our hearts grow attuned to His. He becomes not just the object of our faith, but the companion of our journey, guiding us through every unknown.

Sharing

Jesus last words on Earth were to his disciples, can be found in Matthew Chap 28 when Jesus told his disciples, “Then Jesus approached and said to them, “All power in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age.”

Jesus calls all of us to share in his redemptive mission here on Earth. I would ask you to share this Scripture reflection with your family, your friends and your acquaintances, and then share it with a couple of individuals that you may may not be comfortable sharing with, keeping in mind always the words of Jesus, And behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age
