Today’s Theme for Prayer – Jesus Makes Me His Intimate Disciple

“For the Souls in Purgatory – Eternal rest grant unto them O Lord”

How Do I Gain Deeper Personal Knowledge of God

The person who loves God cannot help loving every man as himself, even though he is grieved by the passions of those who are not yet purified. But when they amend their lives, his delight is indescribable and knows no bounds. St. Maximus the Confessor

“The Fire of Love That Transforms”

Rev 3:15-22

I know your works; I know that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either cold or hot. So, because you are lukewarm, neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth. For you say, ‘I am rich and affluent and have no need of anything,’ and yet do not realize that you are wretched, pitiable, poor, blind, and naked. I advise you to buy from me gold refined by fire so that you may be rich, and white garments to put on so that your shameful nakedness may not be exposed, and ointment to smear on your eyes so that you may see.

Those whom I love, I reprove and chastise. Be earnest, therefore, and repent. Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, then I will enter his house and dine with him, and he with me. I will give the victor the right to sit with me on my throne, as I myself first won the victory and sit with my Father on his throne.

Whoever has ears ought to hear what the Spirit says to the churches.

Seated with Christ: Embracing the Kingdom Life

Reflection

Jesus’ words to the church of Laodicea are an invitation to awaken from complacency and step into the fullness of God’s kingdom. He does not reject us in our weakness; instead, He calls us into transformation. The cross signals that renewal has begun—not only for the world but within each heart willing to respond. We are not meant to drift through life lukewarm, disconnected from the fire of His presence. His kingdom is one of justice, mercy, and peace, and He desires us to live fully within it.

Christ stands at the door of our hearts, knocking—not as a distant judge but as a loving Redeemer who longs for communion with us. His resurrection is the proof that the renewal of all things has begun, and we are called to participate in that renewal. To be “hot” means to burn with His love, to be transformed by His grace, and to bring His justice and healing into the world. Jesus does not call us to escape the world but to be His hands and feet in restoring it.

In this passage, we are reminded that true wealth is found in Him, that vision comes through His Spirit, and that the greatest joy is found in sharing life with Him. The call is urgent: open the door. Let Him in. Let His kingdom reign in your life.

Growing in Intimacy/Union with Jesus

This passage calls us to move beyond complacency and invite Jesus into every part of our lives. He desires intimacy with us—to dine with us, to transform us, to make us victorious with Him. When we respond to His knocking, we step into a deeper relationship where we experience His presence, His refining love, and His mission for the world.

Sharing

Jesus last words on Earth were to his disciples, can be found in Matthew Chap 28 when Jesus told his disciples, “Then Jesus approached and said to them, “All power in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age.”

Jesus calls all of us to share in his redemptive mission here on Earth. I would ask you to share this Scripture reflection with your family, your friends and your acquaintances, and then share it with a couple of individuals that you may may not be comfortable sharing with, keeping in mind always the words of Jesus, And behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age
