Lk 10:21-24

The Whisper of Divine Love

Grace Prayed For

Empty yourself of pride and the need to understand everything. Ask God to help you approach Him with simplicity and trust.

Scripture Passage

Jesus rejoiced in the Holy Spirit and said,
“I give you praise, Father, Lord of heaven and earth,
for although you have hidden these things
from the wise and the learned
you have revealed them to the childlike.
Yes, Father, such has been your gracious will.
All things have been handed over to me by my Father.
No one knows who the Son is except the Father,
and who the Father is except the Son
and anyone to whom the Son wishes to reveal him.”

Turning to the disciples in private he said,
“Blessed are the eyes that see what you see.
For I say to you,
many prophets and kings desired to see what you see,
but did not see it,
and to hear what you hear, but did not hear it.”

Reflection

In the quiet hush of Advent, we draw close to the mystery of God’s revelation. Jesus, filled with the Holy Spirit, lifts His heart in praise to the Father. He rejoices that the Father has chosen to reveal the profound depths of His love, not to the wise and learned, but to the childlike – to those with hearts open and ready to receive.

This Advent, we are invited to become like little children, approaching the manger with wonder and awe. To shed the pretense of knowledge and embrace the simplicity of faith. For it is in this humble posture that we truly see the glory of God revealed in the Christ Child. We are blessed to witness the fulfillment of ancient prophecies, to hear the whisper of divine love that echoed through the ages. Let us treasure this gift, allowing it to shape our hearts and illuminate our path this holy season.

Growing in Intimacy with Jesus

Humility: Jesus rejoices that God reveals Himself to the childlike, not the proud. Cultivating humility allows us to approach Jesus with open hearts, ready to receive His love and truth without pretense or the need to always understand. This vulnerability fosters deeper intimacy.

Sharing

Jesus last words on Earth were to his disciples, can be found in Matthew Chap 28 when Jesus told his disciples, “Then Jesus approached and said to them, “All power in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age.”

Jesus calls all of us to share in his redemptive mission here on Earth. I would ask you to share this Scripture reflection with your family, your friends and your acquaintances, and then share it with a couple of individuals that you may may not be comfortable sharing with, keeping in mind always the words of Jesus, And behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age
