Today’s Theme for Prayer – God Desires to Forgive Me
Deeper Sense of His Mercy for Me

Ps 103
Bless the LORD, my soul; all my being, bless his holy name! Bless the LORD, my soul; and do not forget all his gifts, Who pardons all your sins, and heals all your ills, Who redeems your life from the pit, and crowns you with mercy and compassion, Who fills your days with good things, so your youth is renewed like the eagle’s. The LORD does righteous deeds, brings justice to all the oppressed. He made known his ways to Moses, to the Israelites his deeds. Merciful and gracious is the LORD, slow to anger, abounding in mercy. He will not always accuse, and nurses no lasting anger; He has not dealt with us as our sins merit, nor requited us as our wrongs deserve. For as the heavens tower over the earth, so his mercy towers over those who fear him. As far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our sins from us. As a father has compassion on his children, so the LORD has compassion on those who fear him. For he knows how we are formed, remembers that we are dust. As for man, his days are like the grass; he blossoms like a flower in the field. A wind sweeps over it and it is gone; its place knows it no more. But the LORD’s mercy is from age to age, toward those who fear him. His salvation is for the children’s children of those who keep his covenant, and remember to carry out his precepts. The LORD has set his throne in heaven; his dominion extends over all. Bless the LORD, all you his angels, mighty in strength, acting at his behest, obedient to his command. Bless the LORD, all you his hosts, his ministers who carry out his will. Bless the LORD, all his creatures, everywhere in his domain. Bless the LORD, my soul!
Grace Prayed For
Awareness: Ask for the grace to truly perceive God’s presence and action in your life. Pray for eyes to see His mercy at work, even in difficult circumstances, and for a heart that recognizes His hand in both big and small things.
Whispers of Grace: An Intimate Encounter with God’s Mercy
This psalm bursts forth like a song of praise, a symphony of gratitude for the boundless mercy of God. It’s an intimate invitation to remember, to truly feel the weight of His love in every fiber of our being.
“Bless the Lord, my soul,” the psalmist cries out, not once, but twice. It’s a call to awaken our hearts, to stir our souls from complacency and truly acknowledge the greatness of our God. It’s a reminder that praise isn’t just an outward act, but an inner posture of adoration that permeates our entire being.
And what a God we have to praise! He pardons our sins, those missteps and rebellions that separate us from Him. He heals our ills, those physical and emotional wounds that weigh us down. He redeems our lives from the pit of despair, lifting us from darkness and setting our feet on solid ground.
He crowns us with mercy and compassion, showering us with undeserved kindness and tender love. He fills our days with good things, those simple joys and blessings that make life beautiful. He renews our strength like the eagle’s, enabling us to soar above challenges and embrace new beginnings.
But the psalmist doesn’t stop there. He reminds us of God’s character, His unchanging nature. He is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in steadfast love. He doesn’t treat us as our sins deserve, but extends His hand of forgiveness and offers a new start.
He paints a picture of this boundless mercy: as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is His love for those who fear Him. As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us.
Like a loving father who cares for his children, so the Lord cares for us. He knows our frame; He remembers that we are dust. He understands our weaknesses, our limitations, and loves us still.
This psalm is a balm for the soul, a reminder of the unwavering love that surrounds us. It’s an invitation to lift our eyes from our circumstances and fix them on the One who holds us in His hands. It’s a call to bless the Lord with all that we are, to let our lives be a symphony of praise to the God who redeems, restores, and renews.
Growing in Intimacy with Jesus
Experiencing His Mercy: The psalm describes God’s mercy as “towering over” those who fear Him and “as far as the east is from the west.” This imagery conveys the immensity of His love and forgiveness. As we contemplate this truth, we experience His mercy personally, feeling the weight of our sins lifted and our hearts filled with gratitude and peace.
When Time Allows Reflect on the Posts in Library and Musings
Sharing
Jesus last words on Earth were to his disciples, can be found in Matthew Chap 28 when Jesus told his disciples, “Then Jesus approached and said to them, “All power in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age.”

Jesus calls all of us to share in his redemptive mission here on Earth. I would ask you to share this Scripture reflection with your family, your friends and your acquaintances, and then share it with a couple of individuals that you may may not be comfortable sharing with, keeping in mind always the words of Jesus, And behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age
