“Made, Loved, Sent: Embracing the Potter’s Design”

“For the Souls in Purgatory – Eternal rest grant unto them O Lord”
Isaiah 45:9–13

Woe to anyone who contends with their Maker, a potsherd among the potsherds of the earth!
Shall the clay say to the potter, “What are you doing?” or, “What you are making has no handles”?
Woe to anyone who asks a father, “What are you begetting?” or a mother, “What are you giving birth to?”
Thus says the LORD, the Holy One of Israel, his Maker: Do you question me about my children, tell me how to treat the work of my hands?
It was I who made the earth and created the people upon it; it was my hands that stretched out the heavens, and I gave orders to all their host.
I have stirred him up in righteousness, and I will make all his ways level; he shall rebuild my city and free my captives—without price or payment, says the LORD of hosts.

Grace Prayed For

“Father, grant me the grace to trust Your craftsmanship in forming me, to embrace Your purpose even when I don’t understand, and to respond with a wholehearted ‘Yes.’ Help me live as part of Your mission—rebuilding, restoring, and freeing those around me by Your love.”

Reflection

This passage paints a vivid picture of the Almighty as the Creator-Potter, molding each of us from the clay of our origins. Since He who spoke the world into existence chose to craft you, your existence bears purpose and value. Contending with His design—questioning, resisting, or minimizing it—is like clay arrogantly demanding to lecture its maker.

To fully embrace your “Yes” is to surrender to the Potter’s hands, trusting that what He forms in secret will serve in glory. Beyond shaping the cosmos, God even uses ordinary lives—”leveling ways” in justice—to bring freedom and restoration. Your existence isn’t passive; it is mission-embedded. You are sculpted not only for being known but for living known, loved, and sent. As you affirm, “God my Father chooses to make me,” you become both miracle and messenger.

Growing in Intimacy/Union with Jesus

Seeing yourself as crafted by the Almighty draws you deeper into the heart of Jesus, the ultimate Word made flesh. He, sharing fully in the divine will, models perfect alignment with the Father’s hands. As you let God form you, you unite your story with Christ’s—deepening trust and readiness to act as His hands and voice in the world.

Sharing

Jesus last words on Earth were to his disciples, can be found in Matthew Chap 28 when Jesus told his disciples, “Then Jesus approached and said to them, “All power in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age.”

Jesus calls all of us to share in his redemptive mission here on Earth. I would ask you to share this Scripture reflection with your family, your friends and your acquaintances, and then share it with a couple of individuals that you may may not be comfortable sharing with, keeping in mind always the words of Jesus, And behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age
