John 1:15-18
John testified to him and cried out, saying, “This was he of whom I said, l ‘The one who is coming after me ranks ahead of me because he existed before me.’” From his fullness we have all received, grace in place of grace, because while the law was given through Moses, grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. No one has ever seen God. The only Son, God, who is at the Father’s side, has revealed him.
Grace Prayed For
Gratitude: To cultivate a heart overflowing with thankfulness for the abundant grace we have received through Jesus Christ. To appreciate the undeserved favor and love that He has poured out upon us, and to express our gratitude through worship and service.
Revealing the Unseen
John the Baptist’s powerful declaration in this passage unveils the profound truth of Jesus Christ’s preeminence and divine nature. Jesus, though coming after John in earthly chronology, ranks ahead of him due to His eternal existence. This points to Jesus’ divinity, as He existed before all time, alongside the Father.
John’s words further highlight the abundant grace that flows from Jesus. Through Him, we have received “grace upon grace,” an unending cascade of God’s unmerited favor and love. This contrasts with the law given through Moses, which, while important, could not offer the same depth of grace and truth that Jesus embodies.
The passage culminates in a magnificent revelation: Jesus, the only Son of God, has made the invisible God known to us. In Him, we see the fullness of God’s love, mercy, and grace. Through Jesus’ words and actions, we glimpse the heart of the Father and gain a deeper understanding of His character.
This passage invites us into a deeper intimacy with Jesus, recognizing Him as the source of all grace and truth. As we reflect on His preeminence and the abundance of grace He offers, our hearts are filled with gratitude and awe. We are drawn to seek Him more earnestly, to abide in His presence, and to experience the fullness of His love.
In the tapestry of faith, may this passage inspire us to continually seek Jesus, the one who reveals the unseen God. May we embrace the grace He offers, allowing it to transform our lives and deepen our relationship with Him. And may we, like John the Baptist, boldly proclaim the truth of Jesus Christ to a world in need of His love and light.
Growing in Intimacy with Jesus
Unveiling the Father’s Heart: The passage proclaims that Jesus, the only Son, has revealed the Father to us. This means that through Jesus’ life, teachings, and actions, we can glimpse the heart of God, His character, and His love for us. As we contemplate this revelation, we gain a deeper understanding of the Father’s love, which in turn strengthens our bond with Jesus, His Son.
Sharing
Jesus last words on Earth were to his disciples, can be found in Matthew Chap 28 when Jesus told his disciples, “Then Jesus approached and said to them, “All power in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age.”

Jesus calls all of us to share in his redemptive mission here on Earth. I would ask you to share this Scripture reflection with your family, your friends and your acquaintances, and then share it with a couple of individuals that you may may not be comfortable sharing with, keeping in mind always the words of Jesus, And behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age
