The Most Holy Trinity: The Source of All Mission

“For the Souls in Purgatory – Eternal rest grant unto them O Lord”

Matthew 28:16-20

The eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain to which Jesus had ordered them. When they saw him, they worshiped, but they doubted. Then Jesus approached and said to them, All power in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age.

Grace Prayed For

I pray to live more deeply in the mystery of the Trinity and to share that life with others.

Reflection

Today’s Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity provides the ultimate foundation for our Baptismal Mission. The Trinity is the perfect Community of Love—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Our Mission is nothing less than inviting the world into that divine life into which we were baptized. Jesus’ command to ‘Go and make disciples’ is not a solo project; it is done in the name of the Trinity and sustained by His abiding presence. We see the reality of our human condition in the disciples: they ‘worshiped, but they doubted.’ This is where Prayer becomes essential. We bring our doubts to the mountain of prayer, and there Jesus approaches us. He doesn’t wait for us to be perfect before sending us. He sends us because He has ‘all power.’ To incorporate this, we must see our local Community as a reflection of the Trinity—a place where distinct individuals are united in one purpose. We teach others to ‘observe all I have commanded,’ which is primarily the commandment to love. As you go about your week, remember the promise: ‘I am with you always.’ This is the fuel for our missionary fire. Every interaction is an opportunity to live out the baptismal seal— reflecting the love of the Father, Son, and Spirit. Live today in the confidence that you are never alone in the work of the Kingdom.

Sharing

Jesus last words on Earth were to his disciples, can be found in Matthew Chap 28 when Jesus told his disciples, “Then Jesus approached and said to them, “All power in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age.”

Jesus calls all of us to share in his redemptive mission here on Earth. I would ask you to share this Scripture reflection with your family, your friends and your acquaintances, and then share it with a couple of individuals that you may may not be comfortable sharing with, keeping in mind always the words of Jesus, And behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age
