Jeremiah 18:6
“Can I not do to you, house of Israel, as this potter has done?—oracle of the LORD. Indeed, like clay in the hand of the potter, so are you in my hand.”

Grace Prayed For: I pray for the following grace: to be more aware of how God is near; to trust in God’s personal care and love for me.
Reflection: Step into the sun-drenched workshop of a potter. Breathe in the earthy scent of clay, feel the rough granules beneath your fingertips. Watch the potter’s calloused hands draw a lump of clay from the pile, their rhythm practiced, almost meditative. Imagine this clay is you.
Close your eyes. Feel the potter’s fingers kneading, molding you. Not roughly, but with patient pressure, drawing out hidden potential. Sense the cool water smoothing your surface, washing away impurities. You resist at first, a lump in their grip, but then yield, trusting the process.
The potter lifts you onto the wheel, spinning you into existence. You feel the dizziness, the world blurring around you, yet an anchor of calm remains. The potter’s hands center you, find your core, and then… begins to shape.
Feel the pressure of their thumbs pushing inwards, drawing you tall. Your sides thin, your form stretching upwards, yearning for the sky. You might crack, crumble, but the potter’s touch is sure, mending, reshaping. It’s uncomfortable, this transformation, but also exhilarating.
Now, the potter’s fingers trace delicate lines on your surface, adding intricate details. A spout, a handle, an opening to the world. You are becoming something beautiful, purposeful, yet still undeniably you.
Open your eyes. Look at your newly formed self, still damp and fragile, but undeniably shaped by the potter’s vision. Consider:
- How does it feel to be clay in the hands of God, the Divine Potter? Do you resist or surrender?
- What “cracks” or imperfections do you see in yourself? Can you trust God to work with them?
- What is the unique shape God is forming you into? What is your purpose in this grand design?
Remember, you do not dictate your own form. Learn to trust the God’s wisdom, the steady hands that guide it towards its destiny. Let this image of transformation guide your own reflection, allowing yourself to be molded, shaped, and ultimately, used for a purpose beyond your own understanding.
Sharing
Jesus last words on Earth were to his disciples, can be found in Matthew Chap 28 when Jesus told his disciples,”Then Jesus approached and said to them, “All power in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age.”

Jesus calls all of us to share in his redemptive mission here on Earth. I would ask you to share this Scripture reflection with your family, your friends and your acquaintences, and then share it with a couple of individuals that you may may not be comfortable sharing with, keeping in mind always the words of Jesus, And behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age
